I agree bro..gonna go into hyperdrive now....

Aren't there legal entanglements that might prevent this movie from ever being made?...New Line owns the movie rights, and MGM owns the distribution rights...

that is dope.

in the end, lotr-movie evenings will even rival neon genesis evangelion evenings. but he'll need to make a history channel style documentation out of the silmarillion to compete with nge, of course :)

we heard from some hobbitses that christopher tolkien wouldn't give up the film rights to the hobbit? the only reason that LOTR was done was because JRR tolkien signed the film rights away before he died?? well if it's on the internet it's gotta be true.

can't wait to see how they do smaug.

IT'S NOT TRUE

I was told last week by a buddy who is pretty reliable says they may start working on the Hobbit soon and that Jackson doesnt have the rights. He asked what I thought of this and I told him "it's going to suck" he says "why?" I said "Jackson set the bar, No one in a hundred years will ever have a reason to remake LOTR ever... can you guys make it that good? everyone will be holding that bar against you guys, and if I'm wrong and you do better I will fly out to meet you to give you an official apology"

Well after talking to someone else they said that if Jackson wants to do it , he could get the job plus he could make it cheaper. soooo it might be possible, all he has to do is say the word.

To make it perfect, they need to get Ian Holm.

That was the first thing that came to my mind :)

Oh, and the bible is more interesting than silmarillion, it even has more brutality :D (sry for stern christians here....)

Wow... there are a lot of milestone-movies made in the last couple of years... x-men, hulk, daredevil and upcoming hellboy, the hobbit, etc. etc.

If I would be a director, I'd do Discworld or The Call of Cthulhu

I need to become a director I guess...

Ooooo...where do they have Evangelion movie nites?!? All I see around are Rocky Horror nites...yeah, that would be neat going to LOTR nites, dressing as an elf/hobbit and reenacting the movie like they do at Rocky Horror nites...heh:D
