Been having one of those sad 3d periods. Really depressing what great sense of shape and form you get.
Wish my following sketch showed the same.

Just posted so I'd feel finished with it.. so I can move on.
Time to re-win my 2D skills. :chug:
any comments would be interesting.

They both look pretty 3D to me. Maybe I'm just not sensitive to that kind of stuff yet. Look good, regardless.

I agree... I think it looks fine. It's a good, solid concept. Try putting the 3D model in the same pose as your sketch. Look at them side by side.... you'll see a nice solid concept with a mighty fine looking model.
Don't get much better dan dat!!

no use fighting the evolution of art with tech!...they both look great. 3d sketching gives you lots of controll over edits its like step back on photoshop or layers,

I actually prefer the 2d one...has a lot more life to it...

i think they are both good though the 3d one could use some texture work :-) to make it look more erhmnn... 2d :-)

Wow, love the design of the ship. Has a weird Star Trek Entrerprise feel to it. Almost as if you can see the potential of the ship and its technology waiting to burst.
OK, maybe you can't and I'm just tired but I love the ship. And your 2D is mucho better than the 3D.

I dig the whole thing. Concept, model, and texture. Good job.
My only real nit-picky crit would be it looks a little too smooth ( there are not many hard edges, which are often found in some areas on mechanical objects).
