ok, this is my 2nd try at this painting thing, digital or traditional. up till now the only color work ive done has been with markers....so heres my step into the unknown..
i found an old sketch id scanned and went to work.
and thank you el coro, a tip you posted in another topic stuck in my head: cool colors look best when lit with warm and visa versa :chug: cheers to you man!! i was amazed at the results with just a few brush strokes.

the green blob in the middle will of course be refined, its the just the basic color for his tattoo.
so please, hit me with your best shot, rip it a new one, only way im gonna learn!

Decent start....

When painting digitally you may wanna try blocking the forms...
then go in with smaller brushes to pick out the details.

on this very site, a couple of artist have done tutorials...
I think Sparth and Bengal have some good ones...

THis T-Dome is gonna be fun..

bryan, what exactly do you mean by covering the forms? i'm on my first attempt to digitally color a pencil drawing in photoshop 7 and am finding it very paintstaking. also could you tell me how to post an image in here with the text? its spouting out http nonsense at me. ( i'm new to forums)-thanks!

it looks very good and i don't know much about colors and lighting, but would the green tattoo have warm highlights like the body does?
