Hey everyone!
I'm working on a project called Veralka (www.veralka.com there is currently nothing on the site for the public, since registration is closed, but if you e-mail me I can set you up with an account so you can play the game) - at the moment its in pre-beta and we're getting ready to launch beta. I am co-owner/project manager/secondary programmer/lead game designer. We have a small team of six people working (including myself.)
The project is a tactical warfare game involving managing various cities, using them to spawn units, and using those units to capture further cities and defeat your opponents, based in the users browser. It is tick-based. This is all done on a massive 500x500 hand-made map. Units are customizable, level up, and can be afflicted or aided by status effects and items. Also features a questing system with dialog trees, and a crafting system for a hopefully player-driven economy.
It's nearly into beta, so it's almost complete and ready for a launch. We need some artists to do character portraits/faces, and a couple of scenes etc. to spice up the site. Also, seeking any pixel artists who might want to help out with making tiles for the map, although most of those are complete.
The setting is primarily medieval/loose fantasy. The style of the map is done in sort of a colorful, cartoonish setting, so any art should match or imitate that to some extent (screenshots below.)
You can contact me at rask3h@gmail.com or on AIM at rask3h or on MSN at raskwintime@hotmail.com (I don't check the hotmail address so no emails there please!)
Hopefully this could be a good portfolio building experience for someone since this definitely will go live, although I can't say how big or small it will be. It will be launched as a free game with optional donation features. I cannot promise compensation at the moment although I would hope anyone involved in the project could be compensated at some point in the future.
A few screenshots below to show off the game a bit.
Thanks for looking, hope to hear from any of you soon!
