Hello everyone.
I've been viewing these forums for a few years now, so I think it's time to bare all and start a sketchbook thread.

Most of these were done during my lunch hour at work, so they remain unfinished and/or very rough.

Cheers,
Will

Hey, welcome to CA.org! Your sketches look good so far. They remind me a lot of mine, esp. the robots' ones! The major crit would be for the cave woman anatomy, right now it looks like a man with boobs, because of the big shoulders and small hips. Also, his left biceps should go straight to the inner side of the elbow.

As a suggestion, I'd recommend colouring /giving values with big, opaque brushes, rather than with the airbrush. That way they would gain more strength.

Anyway, good start! Keep up the work man.

Thanks Abrodos, I should probably start colouring my stuff more as I really don't know what I'm doing when it comes to that!

I've finally got a printer/scanner sorted so here's a load of sketches from the past few months...

Good work so far! I don't know which direction you'd like to be heading - if you're going for the stylistically or something else but I would recommend really working on your observational skills.. Like you did with this one:

Cheers guys.

Here's a few more. A lot of concept sketches with a few more portraits thrown in there.

I'm not really sure which direction I'm going in. I'm just seeing where my drawing takes me and try to focus what on what I'm good at whilst work at my many weaknesses!

Nice bit of work here, but definetly work on your observations skills a lot more.
More work on the art of persepctive would help to.

Is the guy with the beard and large eyebrows you? He appears a lot in your work. Try and experiment with different types of people, as I've fallen into the trap of always drawing the same type of person. Again observation would help.

Porg. Yep, you guessed it! It's me.
I usually end up drawing load of 'tough guy' style faces (like the scarred guy above) when I don't use any observation, so I often try to tone it down by using the face I know best... my own!
Good advice, cheers.

A few more recent sketches.
These (apart from the robot) are all ideas for a Flash zombie game I'm building.
I'm quite pleased with the angular/'boxey' look of the characters.

Another sketch going from the above characters. I'm trying to develop the angular-ness of the face and give it some depth and style.

Long time no update!

Here's a few shots from a personal project I'm working on, the first steps in the process...
