I just wanted to give a plug to this fine anthology I found recently. Perhaps someone else can attest to its value--I've only read a few passages, but everything was pure gold. All the reviews I have read cherish this book as a companion for life. The 3rd edition has the most content, but the 1st has more than enough reading to chew on. I've already bought three copies for friends :) Enjoy!

amazon reviews (http://www.amazon.com/Practical-Cogitator-Charles-Curtis-Jr/dp/0395346355/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1234938866&sr=8-1)

Besides amazon, you can find used copies on ebay, alibris, abebooks, biblio, etc.

Wait wait wait wait...you call it your "companion for life", buy it for your friends, and give it random plugs over the internet...and you haven't even READ IT?

It's more important for me to show that this book exists now so others can explore it for themselves, than to wait until I've "finished" reading an anthology designed for infinite re-reading over one's lifetime. I've read enough of the anthology to know that it is worth doing both.
