Ok. Here's what I have so far.
We did draw gestures at art school but it's been so long and all have done is drawn comics since then. Now I though that I could go back to basics and counted that seven a day would become 49 at the end of the week + one so it is 50. Not too much when you chop it into chunks like that.
So.... this is from oldest to newest. I really started with easy poses...

And then I drew some cats the other night:

Oh I am totally doing this, whoever started this is awesome. Just found it so I'll definitely be participating in 76!
And just out of curiosity, are these gestures just quick sketchups or what? Many of the gestures I see look like basic contours, which are very well done but I've been told scribbling is more "gestural", are we looking for contour or scribbly or does it even matter?
Just looking for some clarification, thanks!!

Maria David - nice batch! Do you work from reference or from the imagination? Either way, I think you should work a little on hands and feet, so you can give your figures that final touch.
I made it to 40 this week. The female figures are from Character Designs (http://www.characterdesigns.com/index.php?sitepage=photosets), and the cats are courtesy of the awesome icanhascheezburger (http://icanhascheezburger.com/).

polarRook - I have seen some very quick sketches here so I suppose it's ok.
Chate Noire - thank you! I used reference for all of them, some are from porn sites ( they thought us to use them in school for gestures...) and some from my favorite artists.
Your cats are so good! I thought using the ICHC too but never made it that far.
I didn't finish this one because I got lazy and just wanted to sleep. :( NEXT WEEK I'LL MAKE AT LEAST SEVEN MORE! Yeah!

Great job both!
I will edit this post tomorrow so that I can take some time and add crits and comments. I'll post a new topic too.
polarRook; Full poses, sketches, scribbles, contours are all fine really. The main focus is to get better at drawing them! See you soon!
Sloppy scanning and not 50. Lots of work @ uni but I'll be fine next week.
Many of them are from ref. Source is: http://muayrec.com/en/muaythai-techniques/the-first-drills-1-mae-mai, many action poses under "Muaythai Techniques"

So I decided not to wait and did the 50 gestures. 60 second poses on posemaniacs, this was HARD. Wasn't sketching fast enough so some poses are incomplete.
I'm not happy at all with the way the majority of these turned out haha, I need much, much more practice. If anyone sees anything I could focus on in these or something to keep in the back of my head i'd appreciate the input!

Anthis - great poses, and excellent ref! Thanks!
polarRook - well done on making it with these! Posemaniacs is a great source for poses, and the 60-second exercise is good (and intense!). Personally, when I do that exercise I prefer to start with a quick center line to get the general position of the body, and build the basic shapes on it: rib cage, pelvis, head, neck, arms and legs. I also recommend occasionally slowing down with some static poses that give you time to really explore and understand the body.
The flexed back looks great. Love the use of black.

Chate Noire- Thanks Noire! I'll try and keep some of that stuff in mind when doing them this week. I found myself picking out shapes in some of the poses and that really helped with foreshortening. One thing that I was doing was starting at one part and kindof moving my way across the body which I know you're not supposed to do so I'm going to really try and implement the center line and moving from the inside out.
Great cat poses btw :D

Here's some thoughts-
Maria David; Nice to finally seeing your poses! I don't think the anatomy is very cartoony by itself, but perhaps your drawing style is. You may be focusing too much on the outline. Remember its 3d shapes you're imitating- round shapes, masses, forms. Reason I'm wondering is because I don't see any construction lines or shapes, although those are very useful. Sketch some lines, starting with the biggest shapes (head, torso, pelvis) and you'll have a good feel on how the pose (and proportions) will look. But I'm sure you already know since you mentioned art class!
Fun to hear you were taught that porn sites are good ref, I often use soft porn sites for that purpose. A daily routine is good too, 50 all of the sudden can be discouraging. Good job on drawing both sexes, varied poses, trying foreshortening. The cats seem to be drawn fluently and with more ease, nice job. Comparing poses from ref, with poses from mind is good too. Good going! keep it up!
Chate Noire; Called you 'man' last round but you appear to be a girl, apologies for that ;). Great reference source too. Strong poses again too.
Pelvises of 2nd row seem short, perhaps you were focused on the boxers/pants? Also, sideviews of the leg seem to be tough? The 'flipped ref' poses look great (crit: some of the heads are small). They are very dynamic. Do you draw a mirror image of the ref? Very nice foreshortening on those thighs. Nice cats, very 'round' feel.
polarRook; Hey! Cwn Annwn first started this activity, and the text at the top is also hers.
Those 60sec poses on posemaniacs can be very tough, I commend you on doing those. They may not look good yet, but they're a great exercise so it's a good thing you've done them. 60 secs may be a little short even for construction lines, but you can still throw a few of them in, like Chate Noire mentioned. Get an overall view of your pose, throw in a few quick scribbles and you'll have a basis for drawing the rest. You mentioned the rest in your last post. Nice optional by the way.
Good thing you joined! You can leave your scans a little bigger, makes it easier for comments!
Next one's up too.
