One of my buddies said I should post one of my drawings here to see what people think. I've lurked around a little bit and I must say that there's alot of extreemly talented individuals here. For those that don't know, The drawing is of MIKE MIGNOLA'S HELLBOY. It's his character, not mine.

HEHEHE you dont have to worry that much around here we won't lynch for that.

My critique would be that his ears are too far back on his head, It makes his face look stretched and distorted his shoulders are a bit low making his neck long but heck look at how Mignola draws him. His tail is too fat and I dont dig the hoofed foot but that is my personal taste. all in all it looks solid. good job i like it.

Wow...your anatomy is spot-on. I love the rendering, which is a shame because I don't get to see as much of it as I would like (my only critique would be to render a little more on his lower half to accent your strength in shadows and shapes).

Its loverly! Can't really add much constructive crit, the lower half shadin could be a tad on the darker side. I wish I could draw like that... maybe someday.

this shaded parts are just there to show the black areas for inking purposes. he couldve just used little x's to show the black area too.

i really like this man! your anatomy is great, and the exagerration is perfect!

I love the drawing. I agree that the ears are too far back, and the face could be a bit longer, just for the sake of a likeness... but the shoulders are fine the way they are since that's how Hellboy is designed. Killer work man, hope you post more soon! Peace

reguardless of the head, you've incorporated Hellboy to your style and that's fine with me ! :) the only thing that disturbs me is the hoof/foot area. Oh and that's one thick tail he's got there ;)

I thought he had hoofed feet. Sorry about that. Yeah, the tail is too fat. I forgot I roughed in a line a little lower on the top side, that kind of cut across underneath the calf of the fully shadowed leg, more like a line through the ankle points of that leg. I also gotta figure out how to make that lower leg look like its bent and the calf is forshortened. Maybe a little rim light, or better yet, some light bouncing up from the ground. And the ear, I'm definately gonna move that sucker forward a bit. Thanks again.

hell boy has these wierd little 2 toed feet
they look kinda like hooves, but hes just got 2 toes on each foot with semi long nails on each one

Damn! thats pretty cool. I've seen a lot of versions of hellboy, and this one is one of the nice-est! As Chromosome said, Hellboys got Hooves for feet, but it does look like his leg in the shadows is hooved?
Please please post the finished version! or at least your WIP's!
