hey everyone-
i'm looking for someone to do a few images for, yes, a post-apocalyptic western film. it's an incredibly creative piece of work, and a great opportunity to do some really interesting and whimsical pieces.
there's really two angles on this job:
1)
we need a few environments- wide, atmospheric pieces that convey a specific mood. these don't need to be incredibly detailed- something in color, and something fairly painterly. i'm thinking along the lines of Sparth's 'sketches':

this will be 3 to 4 images.
2)
we also need a few character designs. the characters are pretty specific to the story (and the look / technology of the story), but we're looking for a talented and creative artist to put their spin on it. obviously, 'post apocalyptic western' can go in a few different directions. we've got a specific idea for our direction, but unfortunately we'll have to wait to tell you that one. however, not to be deliberately cagey or obtuse... the characters aren't 'mad max', nor are they too 'sci-fi'. think of the designs in 'the skillfull huntsman'... kind of non-specific, but wildly creative.
these wouldn't necessarily need to be in color, and can be quite loose.
this will be 3 to 4 images.
so this is obviously a two-pronged job, that may go to one person, or a couple. let's talk who's doing what, and then we can discuss money- there's not a hell of a lot of that (as this is in the pitch phase), but there is some, as working for anything is better than working for nothing : )
but ultimately this will be more about great artwork than a pile of cash.
at the moment, this job is quite close to a number of production companies, and is very likely to go into (at least) full development. it's not a pie-in-the-sky thing from omaha... there's serious interest here. i like working with people i know and trust, and when actual development money comes in from this fantastic pitch, you'll be on board to do a lot more work for it.
i know, i've had people tell me that before, and i put zero faith in it- it never pans out. however, i'm serious about it, and have developed many long term relationships with some great artists.
