Hey everyone. I've recently been bombarded with school and haven't had much time to practice my photoshop skills. Artist's block has also had me by the reigns for while.

Let me start out by explaining the whole shniz. First I sketch out a concept in blue led, then begin the tedious inking process. After that's through, I scan the image in black and white and import it into photoshop. This way, none of the sketch (which isn't seen b/c it's blue) shows up.

I used to use several layers for light and shadows while strictling using selection tools and fill/gradient options (no paint brush). But that process sometimes took up to 10 hours.

Lately, I've been using the paint brush like a normal brush, messing with the opacity and trancparencies, but I'm not too keen on the look.

Sorry if anyone already knows this, I'm just trying to explain what I do so I can ask for a more efficient method of making my images look better.

Can anyone point me to tutorial or explain a more concrete way of enhancing images in photoshop (PC) with more ease?

If you've got photoshop 7, take a look at the brushes-they all have different painting styles now, which will be especially useful to you seeing as you're changing your method.

It's a lot faster than the old selection/gradient fill nonsense! :)

If you don't have PS7, find somebody with a CD burner! (But I didn't tell you that!;) )

Have fun,
Dave

That's a good idea. I'll take a look at the brushes tonight. And yes, I have 7.
