I just started a Sketch Journal weblog BLOG Blah blah blah...on my website this week to try and push myself to sketch something everyday other than the art I do for work..........?

Here is todays addition which turned out kinda cool....dont ask why...I work in anime. :doh:

Random Chaos: no actually...The only thing I did was adjusted the levels.

Belligergerum: Yeah that is kinda my shorthand for fingers, I could have fixed her fingers maybe put some clothing on her but I was having too much fun with the tenticles.

If anyones interested I drew her out first in a super wacky pose then i drew basic lines out for the tenticles and then added the details and squiggly edges.

you seem to like blue pencil.....does that help? what are the benefits? does it help you clean your work up later or something?
i've always wanted to try it out, but i've never thought of buying one when i was actually somewhere i could find them.

oh, and i love the hellboy. its really funny, and very well done(but i think his left arm is too big. shouldn't it be kinda puny? still great work regardless).

complete2: I dont know if there are any real benefits...For me i just am more comfortable drawing with it, my reasons are...

I can draw lighter if i need to.
It isnt as dirty as graphite so i am not always washing my hands.
it doesnt smudge as bad.
it erases well.
it doesnt show up in photocopies.
it is easier on my eyes.

Wow. Badass sketches. You ought to try some simple gesture drawings though. I'd love to see some of these characters drawn outside of camera-centric poses, like doing mundane everyday things. I say this because your style is so out there, it'd very cool to see your fluid drawing style applied to illustrations that best show these characters personality.
