Hey dudes! long time no post... heres some stuff i've been doing since I started working at massive black.
some stuff is for neverwinter nights, ride 2 hell, and the rest is personal stuff.

The one with the creature standing with the black dude...DAMN. I've been drawing nasty creatures all my life but that one actually made me wince lol. Awesome. 5 stars. It's chin literally looks like a giant zit about to spew acid.

The critter in the bottom one with the Bob Marley hair dude is hideous. Mostly due to those shiny black bumps on its chin (or whatever part of its anatomy that is). I sure hope I never encounter a creature that looks like that. Is that an anus on its chin? It makes me shudder.... I guess the Marley dude must be hallucinating from whatever's in that odd-shaped (small top) bottle he's holding.
The top two look like a group of 2D images on separate layers composited together. Not enough blending between layers or balancing of color saturation or light intensity to make the different 2D components look like they really belong to the same 3D scene. The highlights on the edges of some of those component layers are too well-defined if you want them to look like they're all part of the same painting. Of course, perhaps that effect is deliberate, or merely a shortcut.
The mountain scene is nice, but could be developed further. It looks kind of Tabula Rasa-ish.
All of this from someone less talented than you. :)

I should also add that I really love the Yuan-Ti chick (or whatever she is) holding the glowing flask. She reminds me of the sexy Pythona character from the civilization of Cobra-La in G.I. Joe: The Movie. Of course, I see opportunities for further rendering and development of this painting as well. Great work, though.

March 6th, 2009, 01:43 AM
biereck strikes again!
SWEETNESS on that transient piece, the freshly-fkked eyesockets are a nice touch. also loving the graphite long poses, as you well know. these repros dont the originals no justice at all....
i see the dobsky's got you painting now. congrats! nice one on sonja!
i do have to agree that the first couple digital pieces lack cohesion and look too overly in focus to really go deep (mmm deeeep) but your rendering is top notch as usual.
whatchu gonna show us next?
