I am new, and I am looking to spend more time drawing.
I am looking forward to discussing artistic problems and possible solutions and definate inspirations with other artists with similar obessions in drawing.

Please look and be critical.

these are off of pictures and not from life? or did you look in a mirror with your head like that? heh.
the second one looks like the values could be pushed a bit more?
keep it up =)

Thanks virus, I will endevour to improve my efforts. I have been perusing your work and think some of your line work is very skill full. Anyhoo, tar....and here is another portrait done a couple of days ago, I cant realy consider this a success, I am still having flashbacks to a dissertation on Lucian freud and I think the intensity has rubbed of....however the awful truth is that this drawing does resemble me....bah..the ravages of time..........anyhoo please comment I value all your comments.

Hey Dafin - you asked me who I looked for - for inspiration from painters ? John Singer Sargent, A guy on this site ( in fine art) Aaron Cobberly, Henry Yan, Zhao Ming Wu, Tomutsu Takeshima, Tae Park ( that last 4 are my teachers at school).. Nelson Shanks, Rob LIberace, Jacob Collins and his staff of amazing artist teachers.. Nikolai Fechin and DAvid Leffel.. all of them ! Keep up the hard work.. learning basic head structures would a good next step for you to develop this work.. and probably learning a bit about how form, value and perspective really work.. just a few thoughts.. humbly - -kw
