Basically, Pelosi says that if legislators don't move quickly to pass President Barack Obama's stimulus package, "500 million Americans lose their jobs". According to her, this sobering scenario will occur every month without proper government action.

However, according to the US census bureau, the current population of residents in the country stands at about 305,000,000.

That's right, more bloated, arcane numbers springing forth from some imaginary fount. A 900 billion dollar 'stimulus package' is pending, without which we apparently face '500 million lost jobs'. How do these figures manifest? How are they approximated if they are not just jerked down out of the thin, crisp air? Who knows. Regardless, rest easy knowing competent oracles like Pelosi and other adept economic minds of considerable prescience are on the ball and are working feverishly to get a tourniquet on the country as we buckle to the reverberating backlash of our decadent and ignorant ways... afterall, without their expertise, everyone in America and then some will lose their job.

There might not be much of anything to discuss here, because it feels like everyone is just sort of holding their breath and trying to think positive as we assume we don't know better than the 'experts' so we sit tight hoping these blundering bastards can eek us out of catastrophe. We're tapped out though, people are broke as shit. You might even say all our islands have been tapped for their respective mana and we can't afford to counterspell ...can we? Yes, I did just make a mtg reference. We can't afford to live the way we did anymore though. I'm sorry America, I don't need a ford truck. I want a gun and some rice and beans for safe storage. (just a note, gun sales are exploding, at least here.)

But there's really nothing to do now though except to bend over and hope we get stimulated by this package.

/End rant. (Forgive me, it's been fermenting over the last few months and I don't like Pelosi).

:D but but don't you know pelosi know's everything, in fact she's the "new" pope. Cause she's an authority on everything. shame on you for questioning the all knowing pelosi shame shame shame. :D and then *big hugs* cause pelosi is a degenerating old crow anyway, her black magic won't last much longer, and from the looks of it neither will her plastic surgery.

on a lighter note, I am prepared to get my hand smacked cause I don't like the prez, I didn't like mccain either.... but I don't know how many people would be sympathetic to that? cause after all he is the messiah...right?....

I hate all the media hype around Obama, the whole messiah treatment started way before Clinton even dropped out. In many ways he's sold like a product, with catchphrases and links to everything from sports to comics. But that is politics, isn't it? Selling an image so that people don't need to think about anything.

Maybe now he can be judged by his actions, I know a lot of people are excited about what they expect him to achieve. I hope they are right, and if he stops the torturing of prisoners and the spying on average Americans then you might have a winner.

Maybe the guns are for holding the president accountable if it all goes boom? (I'm sorry fbi / cia please don't break my door down now)

Honestly I feel bad for all those who think he can save their dying factory town.

500 million americans, I think that number is wrong.

Population
- 2009 estimate 305,763,000[2] (3rd4)
- 2000 census 281,421,906[3]

According to wikipedia, the stimate population of USA in 2009 is 305 million, 200 millions under the number the news mention.

200 million people is a lot of countries.

BTW, the entire USA without job sounds weird..

I about pissed myself when I heard pelosi say she was an authority on my church teachings.... literally laughed so hard I nearly pissed. the damn women is going senile, and her face is sagging she needs BOTOX....COW POISON????

Maybe now he can be judged by his actions, I know a lot of people are excited about what they expect him to achieve. I hope they are right, and if he stops the torturing of prisoners and the spying on average Americans then you might have a winner.

unfortunately that won't happen, he is for BIG government, so we are looking at even more censorship.

Honestly I feel bad for all those who think he can save their dying factory town.

What's really funny is that he stated he was going to bankrupt the coal industry, which is where we get most of our energy here. but they never aired that on the MSM.

She's probably including all of Americas colonies in that number

"Tom I'm standing in the flooded Beaverton Colorado where the death toll is at an estimated 10 billion. Beaverton of course only has a population of 6000 so this will be a devastating blow to the community..."

Given January's job loss figures, I'm absolutely certain she meant 500 thousand. It's an embarrassing mistake, but understandable.

For Christ's sake. She's a politician. Their brains hibernate between election season. Why do you think democracy is such a failure?

Its over 9000!

I knew someone would go there. ;) Hee hee!

Honestly, from the number of times I've been hearing about jobs lost, 50 is way too many. Gee, even I mix up two numbers now and again but...man! Even that president would lose his job if that number were true. :P
