This is a recent creature illustration project. The assignment was to create a scene of a creature in action in Manhattan at night. The creature sketches were part of the ideation/development process for the piece.

Materials used: Prisma markers (20-75% greys), brush pen, design marker, photoshop and wacom intuous (for final image rendering).

There's also a detailed tutorial (http://www.freshdesigner.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=982) on my site that breaks down my process in making this image. Thanks for stopping by.

Looks pretty good! I'd reeeaally reconsider using photos in the background—the disparity between your drawing style and photography is just a little too much for me.

More like mad minotaur. :P Heh, just kidding, great work! The mood in it makes me wanna go berserk in my small balcony covered in pot-plants.

Awesome. Thanks for the comments.
Giacomo- I agree its a huge contrast. Perspective drawing is a pain in the butt for me and given the short turnaround (less than 2 days), I had to make a quick judgement call. I also wanted to highlight my strengths, which is figurative art and design.
Lord M - Yeah! Go crazy. show those plants who is boss :)

I really enjoy the aesthetic of the bull's arms. It definitely enhances the idea of movement rather than a "statue" type look. One critique I have is to make the eye more noticable. This may just be a personal quirk, but I really think enhancing the vibrancy of the eye would help solidify the overall composition of the figure. I enjoy the image a lot keep it up!

Oh and the studies are tight too. Anamorphic designs always lend themselves to unexpected results.
