Any Myst/Riven fans out there?
We had a comic project in Figure Illustration. 3 pages colored, 2-3 black and white (i decided to go full color), any medium, any subject. I had some grandiose ideas about writing my own short comic but time just wouldn't allow it. I'm a big fan of the Myst and Riven games, as well as the books, so i figured i'd make something for that (i've wanted to for years now).
Anyway, this is it. I havn't posted in the Finished section in ages. These may be a bit dark on PC's as it was painted on a Mac, so my appologies, i've tried to account for that. I should also note that there are a few layout problems, some pieces don't quite 'flow'. One of those hindsight=20/20 things. But, I learned more doing this than I have in a while.

Matt, Matt....
Your a god damned beast. These pages are really fantastic... Wow. Are you looking for critiques?
Have you played Uru yet? I was always I really huge fan of the myst/riven games, some of the games where I could actually lose myself in another world completely.
When does your term end? I just finished my first term at art center... phew... *wipes sweat of brow.

Hhhhmmm... I'm running a PC and it looks just fine! Awesome awesome work Matt. I've always loved your characterization... really top notch. I also love the fact that you left the pencil lines in there. Can't wait to see more. Are you going to be posting more around here? hint hint, nudge nudge.... Peace mate.

Yeesh. This kicks huge amounts of ass, Matt. The colors work so harmoniously with the linework. Plus, I don't think I'd ever seen your sequential stuff. It looks like you know what you're doing.
I would seriously read a comic like this over anything else right now. I didn't even notice there was no text. (!)
This is turning into a huge asspat session, so here's a crit or two: The 2nd appearance of the old man (after the girl vanishes) if a little abrubt, and I'm a bit unclear as to what actually happens at the end. I assume he teleports somewhere? Or is he absorbed into the book?
But seriously, DO try to completele these grandoise plans for writing your own short comic. Soon.

woweewowWOW!!! Awesome stuff, man. I love the colors. What program did you use to color your work? Photoshop? The flow reminds me of a series of 'Powers'' comics that they had a few months ago, showing the origins of the characters. Especially the monkey/caveman issue. Did anyone read that one? A really good comic.

I really enjoy your colors, but the best thing has to be the thematic tone, and sequence of events. It's so entertaining, (especially while youre working on your impressionist project in french class). Haha that evil guy somewhat reminds me of jafar... you know.... from disneys aladin :D

Isric I simply LOVE your art style it's so cool and your characters can that way be very diverse. I owuld really love to draw similar to your style, how did come upon it? should I try drawing realistically first?
