Hey all,
Not sure if this is the correct place for this question but there seems to be more folks in here than in "employment discussion".
About a week and a half ago I just had my first phone interview with a game studio and shortly thereafter I completed the art test.
I'm new to all this and I'm wondering if there is generally a time frame that I might expect to hear back from the studio? Weeks? Months? Dependent on how busy everyone is?
Also, what can I expect after the art test assuming they like what I did?

Thanks.

Well, I think every company has their own way of doing things. I've never had to do an "art test before" as usually everything was just based around my portfolio. Some companies will next call you in for a face-to-face interview, some will take a while, it all depends on their way of doing things. Some will just put you on file and maybe get back to you months later.

yeah, I think the art test is to see about an artists skills in an area that may be missing in the portfolio. Mine is lacking scenes and orthos so thats what they had me do. Also, I've heard some terrible stories of people getting hired but through deception. Ie, stealing others work but when asked to do something after the person was hired they couldn't. Much wasted time, energy and money.

i guess you also gotta account for whether or not theyre getting other artists going through the application process for the same job as yourself, you may not be alone on this one! just wait it out, maybe give a courtesy call/email in a week/fortnight to get an update?
