I was going to post in the "JOB LISTINGS & EMPLOYERS" Forum, however, I'm not yet offering this job... but will be soon. My question is more of a research into hiring, than the actual act of hiring...

I run a network of Music Websites, and am looking into hiring a Graphic Designer to help make them pretty :) Here is an image of the type of work the freelancer would do: http://www.mudcube.com/danman/robot.jpg

What price should I offer for an illustration such as this?

I look forwards to any comments! Thanks you very much :)

your best bet is to put forward what your budget is and what you need done. those who need work will hit you up and you can choose the best from the bunch.

i try to tell people to not work for anything less than 25-30 dollars an hour when doing artwork. most pros charge 50 plus per hour. on occasion there are projects that come up which are fun to do..wizards of the coast for example..where the artist will get a lot of exposure and printed works out of it. at that point the artist can afford to do it for what wotc pays because of that exposure and printing. there are lots of factors that artists will weigh when deciding if they can afford to do the work...bills..exposure...interest in subject matter...ease of client direction....etc...

best of luck
