Hey, i am applying for an AP art course at my high school, and we must submit 15 pieces of what we are interested in.
I need to bring in 15 large sheets of paper with lots of graphite on them, without smudging them. Some of the pictures have a lot of graphite laid down on them.
I have a portfolio/case/ carrier thing, but i have never used it before.
None of the pieces are framed or anything.
I hear something about putting wax paper between them? Please help me out on how to do this.
All help is appreciated, thanks.

I don't really see how people smudge graphite in the first place heh, unless you mean charcoal.

But if you're really worried you can do two things, either put light calque papers between them (the transparent kind) or use a fixative.

And don't use hairspray hehe.

with light tracing paper in between each sheet, in a portfolio folder.
Hold steady, do not swing or give to old ladies to use as a handbag against badgers.

Fasten if possible.

You could use (good quality) fixative, this WILL permanently change the works though, and unless you know what fixative does, you may not like the effect.

That or get a gazillion oompa loompas to hand them to one another, single file, from your home to your school.
