If ID means interior design then yeah, Ringling has it. It's supposed to be a really small program. I think I heard it was only about 50 students or so *total*.
I'd love to visit Ringling and Sarasota but, I don't see any point in doing it since if I get accepted, I'm headed there anyways :P And yeah I've heard Ringling looks more like a resort than a school. I think I remember seeing some pics on the Ringling website...and all I saw were the freshman dorms and burnt grass :\. I'm so jaded :bashful: But in all seriousness it does look better than most college campuses. But...I don't have much to compare it to. Just Rutgers University, where I go. There was this nationwide survey a while back and Rutgers actually had like the 2nd worst dorms in the entire country lol. Believe me...they were pathetic. Ack...I'm going off on a tangent here...must resist urge to bash dorms...ugly yellow cinder block walls...ARG!

Perhaps ID refers to Industrial Design, which no, Ringling does not offer as a major.

I've been checking out Ringling stuff for a while, and it seems really great. As of now, I'm a junior in High School in Central Florida, and plan on checking out Ringling pretty soon. I have a few questions for anyone who can answer.
What kind of time do you have to work while attending school there? Is there enough time to hold a full time job?
Where do you get information on Financial Aid from the government? Sohix, how did you find out that you were eligible for that money?
Ahm...How many of you who have attended, or are attending, or will be soon going to ringling; have gone to a University first, one that doesn't specialize in art?
Hmm...I know I've got more questions, but, this'll do for now.

Sula: I don't mean to say I have anything against working, it's just that when it comes to working and going to school at the same time, I don't manage my time very well. I would rather be able to just go to school and concentrate on that. It looks like I may not be able to do that. And about Sallie Mae... Unfortunately I don't have a co-signer for Sallie Mae so they won't be giving me squat :[ I've already tried applying on my own credit... ha
Jibbly: If you live in the US, go here ---> http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ You can fill it out online. As far as figuring out how much money you will get, well, you have to actually get accepted at a school and then the financial aid department will work with you to put together a financial aid package. I applied at a few colleges last year, that's how I know how much I would be getting.
I hear that Ringling is a demanding school, espicially the Computer Animation department. I would say it would be best to have a part-time job, if you have to have one. A full-time job and full-time school could get hairy.

How would you, all you RSAD people, compare AC's illustration program to RSAD's?
RSAD is closer, AC sounds like it has more...
so I'm kinda debating...

Fae: Having never been to AC, I feel fully qualified to say that the Ringling illustration program kicks the ever-living crap out of AC's. *nodnod* You should come here, because Ringling is awesome. Plus, all the "clown school" jokes help build character. ^^
