Concept sketch and quick color for an up coming children's book about the enviroment, any thoughts?

I donno what direction they're givin' ya, but I like the sketch much better .... good textures, and kiddies like texture!

if I was directing your ass, I'd tell ya to go wicked painterly on it... crazy brush-strokes leadin' the eye everywhere...
either way if you keep the coloring this simple at least keep the pencil work screened on another layer.

I'd like to see how others interpret "childrens illustration" .. you should post that bad-boy in the colorin' book and see if we can think of some stuff to do to it
