Some sketches of characters (and others now )for not finished project "Wall" of the company World Forge.
All works have been executed together (collaborative) with remarkable artist Anokhina Victoria. Enjoy it! When we did it, it was pleasant to us!

Hahaha, that hobo wet himself. Kodak moment.

I like the armor designs, especially for the law enforcer guys. Really conveys a sense of faceless enforcement. Nice.

hey cool concepts! one thing i noticed, is that on the black guy, he's wearing a belt buckle that says "boy".
im not too sure where this is supposed to take place, but by his garb he looks more americanized to me, which if thats the case, he would never have a beltbuckle that says that on it.

the term "boy" is a derogatory term for african americans here in the united states. its a reference back to slavery. its just a little cultural thing thats helpful to know if you are marketing something to an american audience, or if you are ever around any african americans. ;)

just thought it might be helpful to know.

cool stuff!

haha its not a huge deal, honestly, its an american slang thing to where i wouldnt expect you guys out in russia to know that. and too, considering there are rap entities named soulja boy, rich boy, bad boy, paper boy, ect, its funny cuz it almost makes it seem like its a word you'd want to use. and it can be, just not by itself, i guess :D

i wouldnt worry about pulling it down or anything, as its not that big of a deal, as its just a small cultural misunderstanding, but just something you want to be aware of in the future ;)

uuuuffffff! Thanks for knowledge, it is very useful, yes!
Actually I above have a picture with Russian character, it very grotesque, and probably insulting for some people in Russia, I think, it is necessary to investigate more deeply certainly that theme above which work, but not always it is possible ...to find a material or the information on it, and terms often do not allow to do it : ( it is good that you easy perceive it, the artist should possess greater calmness and wide sights !
Well that all has well terminated:))))

Great rendering, I had to double check on the first character whether it was done with a 3D program. The textures really add realism as well as the modern company logo's on the clothing.

Thanks for posting. I hope there's more from this project to show.

First rate rendering. Terrific realism. Great character design. Very disturbing... It reminds me to be afraid of strangers as some people just don't seem to care about personal hygiene and perhaps they're dangerous people. On the other hand, don't judge a book by its cover. Keep up the good work.

wow these pictures stole my eyes. Now I have enough fuel to draw and paint for next 24 h. thanks for sharing.
and two questions please:
1.do you use traditional media or just go straight for your digital tablet from the begining of art ceation process?
2. do you always take photographs for your serious character deigns and can you make these beautiful images completely from your mind with no refrence photo at all? because I'm eager to know how much photo refrences play roles in professional's art creation like you.

Amazing personality and design for each of them. Really stunning work. Thanks!!

thanks Thanks so much! answer your question -
1 No,
We use photo collage from the begining of art ceation/
2 We used photos for acceleration of working process, for greater realness of characters, certainly the some people should be invented from mind, but we always take inspiration in world around, it gives many the most interesting ideas. The mind is a little limited, it is difficult to think up that of that never saw, it is possible to synthesize only the life experience in creativity, but use of a photographic material (especially if you model) allow to feel a theme more deeply. The resume - I use a photo for really existing characters, and from mind I take fantasy or fantastic. But poses ,plastic of a figure - a photo or alive model are very important! Forgive if not clearly - my English leaves much to be desired by something...: (
Sweet! Really nice texture work. Thanks!

Yes, now I work in our own company which is freelance in sphere of drawing, sketching, illustration, but these works I together with Victoria Anokhina, did worked on a permanent job in the company World Forge on a post art director. Besides drawing, I still teach cg painting in art college , this everything, that gives me means of subsistence.

p.s. sorry my very bad english :( I hope it is not terrible...

These are fantastic!

Thanks so much for sharing the reference.

I am always amazed by the textural differences between nations.
I saw those photos and immediately I knew you weren't from the United States.
Japan, Russia, UK, USA... you can really see the way growing up in these different places affects the manner in which an artist handles his/her drawings.
I think of Russia as hard, concrete, and cracked...
Your drawings exemplify this perfectly, in a way that an outsider's never could.

Stellar work, i'm kinda wondering if you're familiar with Timur Mutsaev's work?

Keep it coming, your character work is some of the best i've seen lately.

These works are absolutely gorgeous. I like how you are handling reference and sharing it with all of us, that shows a lot of integrity my friend!

The color palettes and mood in the environment paintings are beautiful, regardless of their dilapidated surroundings.

Coro should let you do a Bum crossover in this world of yours... you two could form the mighty BUM WALL. :yum:

This stuff is awesome. Definitely something to aspire to art-wise. Where can i find more about this story of "Wall". What is the "Wall"? im assuming it isn't a reference to anything Pink Floyd related :)

Hi everybody,

I'm back again, after two years.
How much water has flowed, how many time was gone, so many things happend in the world...

I have to say at first a lot of thanks to conceptart.org, cause it changed my whole life!
-Thank you guys, who created this web page once upon a time, you are one of the most important people, who helped me to realise my dream))))
Now I'm two years older, I'm living in in Shanghai - one of the biggest, interesting, charming cities in the world - of the Orient, Paris of the East, (it's really amazing) :) !
I have chance to work for the biggest companies from all over the world : Lucasarts, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Zynga etc, cause I'm working in Virtuos, with over 600 staff, Virtuos is one of the largest and most recognized providers of offshore digital entertainment production.
I have new amazing experience about Chinese and world culture, processing of art production, concept art and many many other things...
I had change a lot of character types, roles, haircuts, tried some alternative Chinese medicine, food and other and other...

Just one little thing, I know, many guys will understand my message - it's became to be more and more harder to pick out my part of work from pictures of my artist team, its going to be more like just a teaching, managers work, hundreds of overpaints, bla bla bla, but anyway I am happy, I found a lot of pleasure in such kind of things, I am really glad to share my life and artistic experience with others, to see how guys around me, day by day are doing outstanding artworks. I can pride of theirs successfull work and hope they are also happy to work with me! ;)

So here I just wanna put some of my new works which was done after the WALL project (which unfortunately almost die I heard), some works of guys who worked in my team, some of them have some of my strokes, advices, ideas, all of them have the same way like I prefer to do - deep knowledge of material, story, a LOT of photo and other references (main part of them we are still doing by ourselves, and you also can see them below) and also some photos just for fun...

I'll upload here soon the pictures of mine, Anokhina Vika (vikalibra) , Lev Boyko, Viktor Titov (hamsterfly), Andrey Tatarchenko one by one,all work which was done together at GRAFIT studio(http://grafitart.ru/), thanks to guys for your hard work!

Also want to say here, that now we are trying to find new talanted artists to joing our Chinese (virtuosgames.com) and Russian (grafitart.ru) teams, work with us, work like us and better then us!
We are ready to teach you and ready to learn from you, dont hesitate, write to me, ask your questions, share your thoughts, comments and all kind of other things!
We are also open for any kind of clients, projects and crazy ideas!
Well, thanks again enjoy and -
"You are welcome!"

I'm not an expert but I think this one of the best posts I've seen on this site and I've been following for a while. Rich, detailed, characters with beautiful render. I've seen posts with 300,000 hits that aren't as good as this. Well done, love it. Also there was a tv presenter in Australia that accidently said on TV '(I like the boy)', referring to Muhamed Ali who was standing next to him. Muhamed Ali was taken back but true to his character automatically understood that it was not meant in a derogatory way and joked it aside. Famous moment in Australian tv. Different cultures.....

Hey there! I am here again with two more environment pictures again, sorry that it is not totally fresh but you know all this NDA and Bla-bla-bla which make your gallery unable to be updated quickly!

These concepts were done for Ghost Recon for NDS, unfortunately not finished version...
