Looking at the plate (which I've in front of me), the outer curve of the inner part of the forearm, where the muscle tapers, bends too much. Take another look at the plate, compare the two, you'll see what I mean. If you erase that outer line, redraw it pulling it out a bit, that should correct it.

Dizon: Ye, i hope i will make some progress during my time at the academy :D
Zou: He didn't say anything special besides explaining us how to measure and shade.
OmenSpirits: Trying to correct all the error on that plate would kill me :[, since the one you noticed probably is only one of the many i did.
It was my first bargue afterall and i wasn't used to the way we measured all the points so i made an incredible amount of error in the early stage. Anyway thanks for pointing that out.

Totally understood. :)
I've been doing Bargue since the end of June. This one will be a plate I've to conquer myself!
(It's later on in the course) :D

Once again, or the sake of all sharing the process you are being taught (I'd do it in "bullet" form step by step)) is the most valuable thing you can contribute. Your eye is definitely improving!

What medium are you using for these? I'm using graphite HB/2B pencils. Are you using softer? Those are reaaaaly dark shadows. :)
Keep up the awesome work. :)

Hey im back with more (bad ) figure drawings, this week we finally started to add shadow shapes.
Maxine Schacker: I'll see what i can do about the step by step, but its an easy process, find a plumbline, place the shoulder, hips, feets, hands and head then complete the gesture, once this step is done articulate it, basically you add all the major form change while using the gesture lines as a guide. I hope its clear enough sice i suck at english :\.
sevarenge: Hi, the only thing i can tell you is that the Angel Academy of Art is great since i dont know how things works in others atelier / academy.
OmenSpirits: Thanks.
Earendil: I guess you are talking about the bargue right? We use only 2b/hb/2h here for the bargue, for the dark shadows we use 2b, we start shading it once being carefull on filling the texture of the paper, then we redo this step sharpening the pencils and going over it again then we stomp it or brush it and in the end with an hb we adjust the tone to match the bargues ones.
courtyard: Thanks and posting them is not a problem at all
sandeepbarot: Thanks.

Why do you say these are bad? They are far from bad. I think the way your contours look is good, and I really like the last one you posted. Every time I see work from an atelier school I wish I was going to one.
And your english is not bad at all either! If I hadn't known you were Italian I wouldn't have been able to tell. What's whit choo lol? Be a little more confident!

Hi fellow student! :) Your drawing of Valentina looks familiar to me! Are you D.B.? (I'm Kristina).
Fantastic studies. Il tuo sketchbook thread è davvero fantastico anche! I look forward to seeing more of your work.

courtyard: Thanks
sevarenge: Thanks. Waiting to see those studies :D
Maidith: Hi :o , i'm not D.B. btw im M.S.
My first long pose, two weeks, i don't really like it because there is something bothering me a lot, probably the proportions and the fact that i couldn't render the feets :D
Crits appreciated

Haa whats with the code names :P
Anyway, the values are looking nice !! I find the left arm kinda weird though. From what i know, your arm is roughly a spherical shape at the elbow ending with a cubical shape at ur wrist, but your arm looks fairly cylindrical in shape. My 2 cents.

Hey sevarenge,
Really cool work, here. The subtle handling of the pencil, outstanding. But, am really taken with the switch from the soft realism to abstract description. Especially in the birdies. Very cool and perpetually interesting.
Okay. A bit of advice, apply the same idea of graphic shapes to your figures as you do with the birds. Abstract, redesign the forms as a fun exercise.
