well,

the progress in the first picture is obviously i think. the face looks much more realistic, just kinda natural. also i like that she is now not that erotic-offensive, the newer one has some feeling of savety on her (bash me for that english :/)

same things for the second pic, if the newer guy would get a nose he would also look much more realistic :)

the last picture isn't quite a big difference to me, as it is still animesytle and the detail is well .. the same. not much difference there.

thats about the comments of a real noob :D

dude that is such a cool idea i really should do that, its must be really cool to see yourself so advanced of your older stuff. btw your new stuff rocks!! i started out exactly the same as you the manga style, but ive went completly western now, so my designs would be completely different to the older stuff, but once i find my older stuff (some of it i was so ashamed off i destroyed on sight i know i shouldnt of :/ :bash: ) i will post up on here, again very cool idea and the redesign of the girl with the sword is amazingly cool.

mike: thanks for the comments. i'd love to see you toss your work up in this thread. it's funny that you commented on a manga style because i've never been a fan of manga or anime, but somehow that style crept into my work a little bit and i've spent years trying to get rid of it.

bueda: that character was originally designed without a nose because he's some sort of demon-thing (and because at the time i was terrible with noses;) ) and it became alot of what the character's appearance was to me, so i left it in the redesign...though now i have the unfortunate problem of trying to make him look interesting and believable without the nose.

I agree the progress is obvious. Maybe it'd be a good idea to keep those, mail them to yourself so that they arrive in two years and repeat the same operation. You'd have an animated progress of your skills ! :)
Funnyly (?) enough, I went trough boxes and boxes of drawings yesterday. 99.999 % of it is going to the recycling bin but I kept a few to show on the forum so everyone can have a laugh :)
