those big eyes in the back make it look like part of the monster is hesitant :) like its a nice monster that doesn't like to hurt or scare little kids....

I really like the tentacles and the two lower mouths. The upper mouth seems a bit flat/thin at top which, when combined with the goggly eyes, seems to reduce the implied menace. The eyes almost look icthian (fishy, like some horror from the deep) but don't _quite_ pull it off.

I know it's just a sketch so obviously you didn't have much time to push values but I definately think making that doorway darker and wrapping some shadows around the monster (almost as if the darkness was hugging it from behind, straining to hold it back as he struggled to force himself into the world of the light) would add a lot of drama to it.

I also like the hint of texturing you started to give it in certain places (like that space below the middle mouth).

BTW, is that another eye on his tentacle? :bigeyes:
