A friend of mine asked me to draw a sketch of him so i painted this refering to a picture of his , didn't really went into painting realistic human figure before so its really not good , but i'll learn more from it , he requested a tatoo of a dragon on the neck , but didn't know how to paint it so it looks crappy :dead: but oh well , still postin it :bashful:

I love the ideas behind your illustrations. You got an eye for creepy/funny/cute creatures :) Only one little critic: None of your drawings looks really finished. Maybe you can put a little bit more time in rendering here and there. I love the drawing with the girl in the case. Do you plan to finish it?

mokomiki
April 16th, 2009, 02:49 PM
Felida

Thank you for the comment , yeah its looks unfinished , currently trying to do some speed sketching and speed painting so i timed myself , but i found out some great masters out there who have some awesome speed paint but with real cool finishing , really have to learn to do that ! Thanks ! And yeah , i'll have to finish her off Asap XD currently working on my college's final 3D short , so might take sometime , Thanks again Felida :) !!!

Ur digital work is getting really good and your sketches are great, one crit make sure your not constructing your faces so that the eyes and mouth are along the same plane.. hope that helps keep working ;)

Thanks Demo , but i dont quite get the meaning about constucting the eye and the mouth on the same plane , i do have problem when putting pieces of the faces together thou XD very serious prob , could you further define it a little , that would be helpful , and thanks for the comment and for dropping by , really appreciate it when somebody drops by and comments :)

I like your use of colours, they're very vibrant and strong. My favourite piece is the martini glass, the one from the sb thumbnail. I'd suggest defining a little the lines on some of the characters, especially on the important focusing points. Also, there are minor anatomy issues, like the short fingers and big distance between eyebrows and top of the head on last one.

Anyway, really nice work! Keep it up :)

WOW welcome first, I looooove #28 I am sure you'll like my stuff as well,
we both have the same interests. Anyway if you show just 2 different versions
I would layout them side by side, cause I get dizzy when I scroll up and down :eyeloss:

WOW WOW the second page is sooo good, I want to draw more digital in PS,
but at the same time I want to animate the stuff so I draw in flash a lot !

Try to draw the hands more like boxes, did you draw some in pencil, if you show
me your pencil hand drawings I can help you to improve them, I drew a lot of hands, and
you can see how I improved when I did the magic boxes !

Your thumbnail made me smile a little. Because you look at it the reflections make it look like it's giving a weird smile. Even has eyes.

But anyways. Up until the last piece I was going to crit tightening up the edges and line more. (think someone said it above) But anyways besides that can't see too much to crit on right now. Oh actually in the last post. Watch the left eye (right side from the viewers point of view) It would be much closer to the nose at that angle. If you made the character face forward with those proportions his eye would be drifted to the right side of the face.

http://www.artyfactory.com/portraits/images/proportions_of_a_head_3.gif

Remember the outer part of the nose lines up fairly close with the edge of the eye. So it doesn't stray too far from that point when adjusting the angle.

Excellent colour studies in here. Some of your quicker studies are really begging for refinement just a little more to make 'em really pop though. :)
