Well, I had a background for this that I got rid of because I couldn't stand it. I am trying to think of a cool environment to put this character in.. Thinking of having a eroded brick wall on his left and a burned out city scene behind him. Maybe some bones in the foreground. Anyway, two more days. I hope I can put something together that works in that time. Any ideas or crits are welcome.

Wow!
oglzogl, i like this much more than your first post!
I love the details and it's posture...
At the first glance i thought of a jester...this horns look like a jester cap...but it's fine, it was just a irritation...
Somehow i associate this creature with a sea-environment...maybe it's the shell-like pattern on his left arm and the water/wave-like forms above...so i would make a coast as a background...the creature is coming out of the sea and walking on sand...bt that's my interpretation and i know, that your intention was different :)
Keep it up, it'll be definitively a unique entry in the contest...

Thanks Fozzy..
It is kind of funny that you mentioned a jesters cap because I started to think that myself.. I was thinking that I went overboard with the lighting but when I toned it down I didn't like it as much.
I like the sea environment idea. Maybe I'll try something like that. I've tried another background idea last night and I just didn't like that one either. Hopefully I can work one out tonight.

I really like this a lot!! I have no idea what you could put for a back round, but I love the way you used your colors. They fit well with your style. Nice job.:D

Thanks Soupy! I was really getting a kick out of using these colors. I tried to show different lights playing on the skin (Lots 'o exaggeration, of course ;) ). It's good to hear that you like the coloring :D
I have decided to keep the background simple. I sat here tonight trying to work some detailed scene out but I have a kind of block with it all. I decided that the best thing I could do was work on something else and then come back to this later. The creature is done so I'll still submit this into the Thunderdome arena.. I'll see where I can take the background in the future.
This is where it ended up for the time being. Pretty close to where it was last night but I like this colored background better anyways... Maybe a bit too orange but what the hell!
