Hey everybody,

Been a lurker on these forums for at least a year or two, but I decided I'd finally start a sketchbook and get some of my work out there, and get some good motivation.

The first load of drawings are studies from Peck and Hogarth anatomy books, life drawing from a Ref book, tribal figure from the National Geographic and finally an unfinished life drawing. Most of these are fairly recent, a few of the anatomy studies were done today, and the life drawing was from yesterday.

So expect some more stuff tomorrow.

I'm glad you decided to start posting SB's because as I can tell, you are a fair bit talented :) (Basically saying a better drawer then I)

Keep it up, and post more!

Only critique I have is not enough drawings :D

Zeus12: Thanks man, yeah I'll get some more drawings done. Was so tired this weekend so I did a lot of sleeping, so didn't get that much work done, but hopefully this week will be more productive.

Anyway here's the finished version of the life drawing I started. Not as good as it could have been since all the details in the face, hands and feet are completely lost because the drawing was too small.

Some more Bridgeman studies. Thinking of getting a load of the Massive Black downloads to help with my inability to use digital media! :yayca:

Very nice studies. I like the straight lines, they add a little something. It's a bout time I start doing some of those studies...

Really nice arm studies, and also the figures. In the figures, don't be afraid to give more dark to the shadows. Maybe it's the scanning, but they look like you're only using the lighter half of the value range(from light gray to white). It's making shadows darker what makes the difference between a good work and an awesome one.

Keep them going!

Beautiful work and excellent anatomy :) Seconding the darker shadows thing, but that may just be your scanner

Pretty solid sense of proportion you have. Your value drawings are good but you might want to dig in a little more in corners and whatnot, it will give your drawings more life. I'm becoming less of a fan of cross hatching but you pull it off. Excellent start to a sketchbook.
