I'm visiting a "Photoshop for artists" course this week. One of my major questions was how to get your paintings inside the computer to work on them further (for later printing purposes). But the teacher has the same problem and doesn't know how to solve it - hurray. So I'm asking you guys who work with this process *professionally*- how do you do it?
Do you try to paint that smoothly that you have no texture at all and then scan it? Do you have a special scanner, or a special scanner setting? Do you use photographs?
I usually use acrylics and mixed media for my paintings. I have a Canon CanoScan Lide 60 scanner. Sometimes it works, sometimes it looks like shit.
