the rhino head is awesome.. though the rest of the body doesnt compare in terms of skill.. the rest are really nice, except the guy's head on the toned paper.. it doesnt quite measure up

whoah!
fell, my man... first, i love your style in general - that seemingly mindless linecrackling that forms something spectacular.
but that ironman... wow man, i'm speechless. marvel can go home. :chug:

wow!!!! i love this stuff! it's really great, i love the guy with the mask, the dark lines are so clean and realistic. the way you shade is also really good, just how you leave the lines showing but it still looks so realistic! great work!

I'm quite envious of your ability to sketch with so many (loose) lines, but still managing to keep form and shape so clear and convincing.
I was looking into some Rembrandt sketches the other day, and it was pretty fantastic to see such 'natural' sketches. He also has got a LOT of lines on paper, but he doesn't mind.. He doesn't look for excuses for any of the lines he places.
Which is pretty much the opposite of my mindset while sketching. *sigh*
anyway, I like these, Fell. I'm a fan. (Keep posting!)

thnx man. it's all about technics, really. The way you flow, searching for a shape, that makes the lines. It's like finding fast the volume and the outline of your shape. Fast sketching helps to improve in that area. thnx again bro
here's another sketch. movie monster

cool idea for a monster, reminds me of a creature from magic the gathering; made of wood barks and tied together, or something like that. i have a few constructive crits here.
the neck area seems to go under the chest 'muscles', but i'd make a few holes in the chest to show those muscles going underneath. also, the head, since it's perpetually screaming, could have a visibly connected jaw. you did that here, or at least it seems like that to me, but you cast the shadow all around so it kinda makes the head float. few spots would really need some values, like the right (our left) shoulder area. i did a few dabs over it in ps, hope you don't mind

(got a bit carried away too). the pelvis area doesn't seem as solid as the upper half, so some explanation on how it works would be good, but not a must (just being curious). oh, and the right sketch says "severe assymetry", even though it is quite bilaterally symetric?
cheers
p.s. the ironman rocks

thnx lung. i had some guidelines for the monster (not my idea), just needed to conceptualize around it.
its the first fast rough and i didnt received the feedback from the client yet. i usualy work like this, first i send some roughs then i work on the ideas until i have something finished. it works since im getting strongly art directed this time. thank you for the insight, ill use it for sure. now that im looking at it, ill change the entire structure for something even more off-balanced, but first i need a response from the art direction. i felt like showing it anyway, and now im glad i did it, since i got such great reply. (i cant give any more info, sorry). cheers bro
