OK,new thread....old threads gone like a fart in the wind..
After a breif encounter with Lukias in the flesh a few weeks back(well i think it was him,i was drunk as a skunk.;P),seeing his awesome artwork, and experiencing his passion for drawing really woke me up.i really felt i wasnt pushing myself hard enough, and didnt take art that seriously..
cheers bro ;)
Just one page at the moment, more pages to come soon.
Just playing around with skin texture/folds,wrinkles in this piece.inspired by a blob like creature of Luke`s.
Enlarged 200%,HB on A4 sized paper..

:-O!
that is what I call skin. for someone who believes themselves to be not taking themselves seriously, your drawing shows that you are despite what you say!
greatness. :)

Good stuff Rusty..great rendering. I liked your old thread alot. The best way to go about improving is turn to life..and draw from it constantly and also to make sure you can replicate it as best you can in your drawing or painting..even doing a photorealistic image will teach you alot. Not that thats what you always want to do..but having the ability to draw and paint realistic is only a plus even if you spread to any style.
Did you get my private message buddy?

Rusty, that's some serious skill you've got there. Beautiful work.
Aint' HB's great? I do most of my pencil sketching with an HB and H combo.
I'm going to go and do some pencil sketching now. You know how it is. Monkey see, monkey do.

To be able to draw anything I imagine, with depth, proportion, and action, is my goal. I think you have achieved it. Keep experimenting and keep us posted; your work inspires and teaches me. Thanks.

Rusty, these r incredible. but just a taste. I'm amazed at the subtletie of your tones wit just an hb. do you do the smudge thing? I've long shyed away from it cuz it used to make fun of me. The tones almost look like airbrush, but not shitty airbrush if you know what I mean. anywhays it's f'n good, i draw now, then check back on your thread.
crazy awesome dude -steak

Hey wait a minute, I thought you said you HAVEN'T been drawing. These look like you've been practicing the whole time you b*st*rd.
So glad you started a thread up again. I don't care how stressed you are, I think you should find time to draw anyway - it'll make you all shiny and happy :)

Man rusty!
I think you really need to stop drawing!
cīmon... there are other thing in life to do, besides giving folks like me the feeling of being a 3 year old child with some waxy crayons, barely able to draw!
I mean... I thought i made progress, and I got to the point were I am able to do a halfway descent drawing.
And than I see your stuff, and you tell me, you did it on your 45 mins bus ride home, while its all shaky and stuff! And it still looks so much better than mine!
But i will going to be able to do just the same as you, let me tell ya!
Two thumbs up for your shtuff from ME!

The mood you've established is absolutely breathtaking.
The concept piece for the solider is awesome, but I really love the battle scene. The washed-out hopelessness you present really gets across your T-dome theme.
I love it =D

The bastard is supposed to be coming to my house.. where upon he will receive a beat-down with a bag full of sketch pads.
After which I'll politely ask "Dude can you teach me the ways of perspective drawing?"
Then we'll get stuck into the whiskey, giggle like school girls and roll down grassy hills.
