Edvard Munch perhaps, I just found out about him
And TURNER, J.M.W Turner, he beats all the impressionists, at least in my opinion.

Cezanne? Well, there's no accounting for taste I guess. ;)

Judging by your avatar you may like to have a look at Euan Uglow, who shares a similar pragmatic temperament to Mr Kubrick and is also able to yeald sublime poetry thereof.
Oh, you may like Raimonds Staprans, because of his clean yet disturbing lines.
Re Cezanne, have a gander at Giacometti, William Coldstream and Antonio Lopez-Garcia

Cezanne is one of my favorite artists. I also love Rodin, Caravaggio, Modigliani, Schiele, and Toulouse-Lautrec. They are all radically different artists.

Welcome Faust - if you check the dates, all the realistic work was early. Once he went to France, he changed dramatically.
