..ok, i read this thread (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14842) and it inspired me to do this illustration :)

it's about thinking twice about how to develop those artistic skills. The illustration shows that our ability as an artist is dependant on the visualization method that we develop, and that method is in turn dependant on what source we use.. ok.. this is pretty far-fetched.. i usually do these kind of things to sort things out for myself.. but now when there's this forum i might as well post it :D

**source is what "world" we learn from
**visualization method is how we represent that world in our mind
**output is the kind of images we are able to produce from that visualization method

..feel free to tell me how things _really_ work ;)

I'm a little confused about what you're trying to talk about. Are you talking about how people learn to see things as they really are so that they can draw realistically?

Dude. if you can draw that first cube right, what's the problem with the rest of them?

I don't get it.

I can sort of understand the theory. Although a cube may not be the best example. Basically if we visualize something that is three dimensional, and posses its own form and volume, we may be able to draw that object with a better understanding, thus being able to "rotate" that object in our mind we can draw it from any angle.

If we visualize something that is flat and mere shapes, we will only be able to duplicate that same shape in the same angle with minor different orientations. I could be wrong...
