I've recently found an interest in digital art, i'm very much into traditional art (i'll post my port. later). But i'm wondering what are the programs to use for certain things, i currently have Photoshop CS. But since i've been "away" from technology for the last 2 years. I'm wondering whats all the hype about Painter and etc.

I'm looking at concept art and non-commision art. And i'm not very into the whole 3D programs, so could anyone help me out.

Thanks for spending the time to answer this.

There is not one best program. It's like saying who's better Navy Seals or Force Recon. Each program is made to handle different things.

Anyhow, just to answer your question sort of. I would pick Photoshop, because you can do a lot more with it than Painter in my opinion. There are also other programs out there, but I guess Photoshop and Painter get all the glory. Hmm.. they might deserve it.. I guess..
