I'm 17 and really new with drawing realism (for the past years, I've only focused on anime). I've simply suddenly decided to practice drawing realism on my own (with the aid of books and this site) since my chosen course in college (I'm in my last year of high school) is not a drawing course. Here are my attempts to draw realistic stuff.

First sketch...I wanted to practice drawing faces and anatomy.

I was in the same postion as you early last year. Stuck in a phase of just drawing anime. Some ppl recommended me some andrew loomis books on anatomy. it helped, but i found a lot of it really difficult. Check out Burne Hogarth. His stuff is really good and easy to follow. Copy everything directly from the books. Its great practice.

here are a few links. for more books just google them and search for pdfs.

Hey this looks very promising! I think your understanding of form is really good. I can still see you sticking to the anime proportions a bit (smallish head relative to body, Looooong legs) However it's a nice style and aesthetically pleasing so the result looks great :) Get into the life drawing I suggest :D
