Here is something I did yesterday, and part of today.

It's a redraw I did of another concept which I did a few days ago. Frankly I thought that the original sucked so I redrew it in a new pose, and put more thought into it. (The original is still on this forum section, but since this is a new drawing, I made a new post)

The idea is an alien cyborg whose arm has been damaged badly and has had a weapon grafted onto the end. The first one had one whole arm, and I switched this to the other side in the new version and made the cyborg arm have a really large cannon attached to it. I still have no real ideas about what the cannon should look like though. I did a quick tablet sketch in to show where his legs are going to be. The idea is that he is sort of sliding down a dirt slope and the dirt is piling up in front of his feet, (but I got no idea how to draw that actually!) I have no real ideas about his left arm.
:bash:

Here is the new one:

*UPDATE!*

Here is the newest version. I added a gun, the ruined arm, colored gray to make it stand out. The left arm (sans hand) and the left lower leg. I also sketched in some general backround, and the idea for the right leg. Nothing is certain though.

Oh Yeah! This looks better! More action! I like the postion of his head. Looks like he's screaming at something eh? Like his armour. Legs look like they're in a good postion. Maybe bunch some dirt and rocks up in front of his foot and knee. With a few rocks flying up. Throw some muscles in the left arm, maybe he's holding on to a bush or something? Don't know, it's all up to you. Like the looks of it so far!

This is up to par with the last one good stuff. Your biggest problem, one i used to have, is that u have trouble with composition, you have amazing detail, but u start from the head down, and the legs screw up. Try quick sketching the body frist, mabye from anatomy book, trust me, from one detail artist to another. practice makes perfect as the old addage goes

Well, I did sort of sketch the whole body first, but not totally, and there were a few revisions in there. And I can't really get reference because I doubt I'd find a picture of anyone in this pose. I'll try to adress the issue, but there isn't much I can do except get better the hard way. Thnx for the crit though.

Funny, I don't see anything really wrong with the legs. The right one could be a bit thicker I suppose and maybe have just the heel on that leg digging into the dirt (otherwise he'd go tumbling head over heels). Other than that I don't see anything wrong with it. It looks to me like he's paused to look up at something coming at him from above.

His Left leg(not your left) the thigh actually is to short. If you were trying to forshorten, the plates on his leg should have been forshortened as well, and some kind of crease or overlap should have occured between the thigh and the crotch:)

I see what you mean shadow. Hummm, it looks like the plates have been shortened, but that's not good because when he stands up the leg will be too short, so overlapping plates would be the best thing as you say. lol lesson for me on cyborgs! :)

Not bad. Maybe a bit thicker left arm? I like his toes sticking out there.:)
