I like some things about this and don't like others. It displays some of my bad/redundant habits.

It's a very cool sketch kress. but I feel the same way you do about it. It looks cool, but Its missing something. I think its in the legs. He looks like, if he takes just one more step, he's gonna fall.

It might be the perspective of the feet and legs...?

The arms look a little stiff....maybe...?

Hey...
I know it's only a sketch but to me it's a bit difficult to make out the detail of the robotic legs/pelvis...I think it's because the skin is rendered whereas the robotic parts are just line.

As for the falling over problem I reckon it's the angles of the feet...they look like they're on different planes and don't have a lot of weight pushing down on them...

I hope i'm not stating the obvious...

Also, what are the bad/ redundant habits in this drawing?

I like it. The feet seem akward though. Too short, they need a back toe thing.

Hey all thanks for responding. I can see the obvious problem now that it's a day later. You guys are totally right: the feet are screwed. I already inked it so I'll have to fix that in the computer, and yes, they so need a back toe thing. The perspective of the close foot is jacked, and the toes look tiny and silly now
I think the point that I.Was. and expat brought up about him falling over could be helped with a back toe thing. And fixing the angles of the feet.

expat - I think the redundant things in the drawing are his pose and the style of his arms, I've done them both before... Meh, but whatever. Thanks for your input.

Landmate - slash away...

And thanks everyone for your input, I would have looked over some stupid things if I hadn't posted.

yep.. the feet and legs definitely need a lot of work.. also his right (our left) hand should be more visually separate from the leg its in front of..

Loop I know the right arm is totally blending with the leg - and it's tangent-city in there - but oh well, this needs to get done and I'm gonna' have to separate them as much as possible with the inks and coloring
Fingers crossed. I thought that was one of the biggest problems, funny how no one said anything.
Cheers.

i think the details are sweet...

im not feeling the feet themselves seem like they don't belong.....

meeby the legs should have out caseings like the arms also-

i really like the crotch part ...

yup

I have to work on the coloring so whatever's wrong has to stay :arg: I kinda' like the new foot but it might be the caffeine.

'i like it, i like it' *in bugs bunnys voice* really cool, just krazygonuts detail and a really cool design in general the feet do look a lot better, because they do look like they can support the main bodys weight, the first ones didnt

the lower part of the legs are different lengths... his left(visually our right) looks great, but if you compare the lower part to the other leg, it is about 2/3s the size. i think if you proportioned that back leg and bent it a little more it would solve the tangent problem you're getting with the arm. there are other issues(like the way the torso twists) but i don't think they're that big of a deal... to fix.

other than that it looks good.

The new version is much better. I like your inking style, and the "back toe thingy" as my other me said helps it alot.

i saw "crotchbot" and just had to click it.
thats a pretty cool design. i think it loses a lot in the inked version. i prefer the looseness of the pencils, but thats just my humble opinion.
