Graphic design is not like illustration design most of the time. Maybe except when theres some signs to make.
Its really hard to say something about Ur work sofar, I need to see more.
But Work some with those lines. Maybe scan it and "ink" it in flash or illustrator? And color it there too?

Or ink a copy in real life. U need to get some more confident lines, which comes fast with practice, its a matter of knowing when to be bold, and when to be fine, when to be real straight, and when to be curly.

Things will come - good luck and post more stuff :D

Hey there. I'm not one to tell people how to do things. I think they should choose what they want to do, but I'm going to give you a little advice. Don't get into manga. I think that about 3/4 of the people here that got into it will testify that it ruined their drawing skills.

Yeah, manga is cool, and it looks cool and all. But, do you know how cool it is to paint a 4ftx6ft portrait of someone? Alot cooler then then some big boobed, prickled nippled, micheal jackson faced chick. In my opinion it is. Plus, if you looking for a job or go to college and do something with your art, then doing fine arts will open a lot more doors for you.

I'm sorry if you take this the wrong way, I'm just trying to save you the grief, me and alot of others, have gone through.

But, I don't know if the picture you've drawn is original or a fan art. But, if its your 1st drawing, I'd say you've got talent and potential. Just remember that talent can only take you so far, but with the right additude and will to work, can take you farther.

It really does look like you're drawing digitally here, so it shouln't be hard to colour the entire figure evenly, which would help.. If you're really keen on getting into manga style drawing, then have a look at some other examples to find where they put their lines.. http://www.megatokyo.com is one of my favourites..

also, drawing from life still helps any style to develop more accuracy, so it might be a good idea to try that sometime..

uh, also, by the way that it's rendered and the way it's cut off here, it looks like you were trying to go from something a little more.. adult.. in nature.. I'd say it's better to get a feel for the form of a human body before going for anything like that..

also, try shading the figures you've got there, taking a look at some real reference shots.. I think it'd be a great help.

Keep it up!

hey man im not hatin but some of us dont want to paint a 4ft x 6ft painting i really dont understand why most of you people hate anime or manga here honestly i think its cool its better then watching a non imaginative crappy cartoon from the us. besides man "Alot cooler then then some big boobed, prickled nippled, micheal jackson faced chick." a michael jackson faced chick..yea ..cause all anime characters has his face , dont hate on anime they revolutionized video games but i do agree fine art does get you alot farther in life aside from that i suggest understanding anatomy and then just exagerating it to your style.
