View Full Version : Gaming concept artist, need a tutor
January 21st, 2009, 04:07 PM
I'm really liking the idea of becoming a concept artist for games.
I've been drawing since I was 3 and now I'm soon to be 24. The big problem
is that I didn't have anybody to correct me. I took art from middle school through college. College was the place where I could do some serious work but few semesters were not enough. I have a degree in Advertising and Graphic Design but my dream job would be to draw for living. I need some one to help me improve from anatomy to environments. From drawing on paper to digital work. If anyone is willing to take their time, I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

you might want to post your work - or a link - it took me a bit to track down your weebly site (I assume it was yours) - this would let others know where you were and if they could help.
also - do you want help in all areas or just figure or environment or something,
that being said - I could help you out.
these are two threads I've got going - check em out - we could do something separate or you could join one of those.
illustration thread - for soon to graduate college illustration students

Yes it is mine. I would like to start off with Character and Environments first. Later I might learn some other stuff. What do you think? should I join your groups or should you create something specific for me? Tell me what would benefit me better. Also, what is your credibility, any work done in the industry or something else? Thanks on your time and will to help me out.

just studying a lot (I did do an art internship at a game company). almost done with an MFA in illustration. got a BFA in industrial design. I can point out what's good and what needs to be worked on.
- if you want to go ahead with it - start a thread called "damjan gets mentored in concept art" - or something like that. - or "gaming concept artist - found a tutor" - we'll start with either from a new project or something you've already been working on. or - you could post work you've done and I could just take those into photoshop and point out what's good and how to fix what needs work. - we could do a mix of them. it's all up to you.
