Thought it would be nice to hear some feedback on some recent pieces of the last few months from you fine folk :)
For the CGSociety Steampunk Myths and Legends challenge
570050
A personal piece, it has no defined story...as I had been drinking profusely for New Years.
570051
Just an exercise in some techniques, it serves no big purpose other than practice.

man that sum good concepts , i really like the focus on the last one , composition there is strong.
i think ya should shed sum more of that orange light further in that 2nd piece
as for the steampunk one , that is just awesome , love the drama , could play with sum darker contrast there and make that glow a bit brighter in the robot horse's eye
apart that good job man

I liked you Mech Headless Horseman, I like your lighting, I like your compositions. Now work on refining your rendering skills. The human and trees in the Headless Mech piece feels less rendered and done than the mech warrior. But keep doin' what you're doin', man--love the concepts, love the compositions! It's only a matter of IF, not WHEN, that your style really gets developed to a solid point!

really like the Headless horseman concept.
would have put the dude running in the extreme foreground, showing maybe most of his face and shoulders.
It would up the urgency and action, and the mans design isn't interesting as the horsemans anyways

Thanks Guys,
Joey-b: Sleepy Hollow was the location of the more popular story involving Ichabod, though there are tons of tales that go along the line of the headless horseman. I found some that go back a hundred years before even that story. Researching the myths/legends was as much fun as the painting process really haha
