Hello CA sculpture form, long time no post from e in here, been working on 2d work for my Folio.

anyway, here is the finished and painted Imbiber, posted some wip images ages ago in another thread.

Check my website in my signature for some backstory on this guy, found in the "hive" section of the site.

Made of sculpey and sculpey firm for small details, this creature is almost a foot tall, and took forever to make and paint, massive fun doing it though.

Any questions i will be sure to answer :)

Enjoy

Awesome sculpt. I love the design and the originality of it. Also the paint really helps to define this creatures form. Amazing details and only a foot tall, that first picture makes it look huge because of the angle. anyway keep up the great work.

As with your other sculpt, this one is bristling with great details. Lots of organic bits and bug-like cues that speak to the alien nature of your design. Seeing it in profile does a terrific job of invoking just how unnerving it would be to stumble upon your creature in a vulnerable, unprotected fashion.

Anything with a fleshy sac between its legs that leads to some kind of Giger-esque orifice needs to be nuked from orbit (it's the only way to be sure).

The paint job here is serviceable. It gives a sense of character and ties it to your previous piece. I would like to see more attention given to the details. You've taken the time to sculpt in such terrific shapes and accents and they seem muted by the heaviness of your primary treatment. I'd love to see some of those details made to pop.

Another great addition!

alter-egos: cheers, i appreciate that very much :)

KingUnicorn: thank you very much for the praise and nice words, its nice to hear that you like it.
I will maybe try come back to this guy at some point and pay special attention to the details, try make them "pop" like you say.
I think i overwhelmed myself with detail while sculpting, and when it came to painting i just did not know what to do with it all ha ha, something i will have to confront if i am to do this as a living.

hopefully start a new sculpt soon, so will keep you posted.

enjoy

Very cool, I remember this guy in painted form. Still looks great.
My only suggestion might be to brighten the eyes a little bit more.
A really bright yellow might make them look even more alien.

Excellent. It reminds me of something out of the Spawn comics.
