This is very sad. It's probably possible to argue that Tony Hart gave Aardmans one of their early breaks with Morph. He was a big part of my childhood with 'Vision On' and 'Take Hart'. All in all it's not been a good couple of months with Oliver Postgate too. :(

My childhood is disappearing fast. I’m totally gutted as I recently found out that he didn’t live far from me and I so wanted to meet him to say thanks.

Yeah, heard about this on Spud's FB page. :(
He's one of the reasons I started drawing; I remember watching HartBeat on BBC in the evenings, and wondering what else he was going to paint; he always impressed and had many different techniques to drawing landscapes and animals... Mx

I'm with posh. Oliver Postgate and Tony Hart informed my childhood. So sad to see these greats pass on.

Agree with Molly :)

I've encountered so many sources of inspiration that have encouraged me to take the path I'm taking, but if you trace it all back far enough - I reckon it was Tony Hart that started it all.

A sad loss.

Hard not to be inspired to do something creative after watching Tony Hart. He always seemed to be having so much fun. Truly a great man. Thanks, Tony.

I grew up watching his "Take Hart" show in the late 70's and early 80's and I think he taught me more then most of my art teachers at the time.

Sad news indeed... God Bless you Tony.

Jason.
