Using Line Tool for Perspective

Hi,

I use the line tool for making a guide for perspective, but the problem I have is that the lines do not go out of the canvas. They're only limited to the canvas area. This is a problem especially when my vanishing points are outside of the picture.

Anyone know a solution? Thanks!

transforming the layer after you made the lines ?!
and if you put the vp into the corner of the layer you can exectly see where the vp would be.

iv got a problem with the line tool also.

im pretty new by the way, so this may sound kinda noob, but when im trying to draw up a perspective grid, each line becomes its own new layer. the major problem though is that i cant merge them into one layer without actually flattening the whole image, meaning the perspective grid becomes part of my background layer.

if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. cheers.

Put another layer under the lines, link that layer and all the layers with lines on, then merge linked layers.

To make the lines visible outside the canvas, draw paths. With the line tool selected, look at the top left of the screen. Right under the "Image" you should first find a square with dots at the corners. If this is selected, the lines will be shape layers (each line will be on separate layers). The second one looks like the last on but has a pen on it. This is the mode you want to use when drawing a perspective grid. These lines won't appear in the layers palette but in "paths". If you right click on this you can fill it with a color. The last mode will make ordinary raster lines. You can only draw inside the canvas and everything will stay on one layer.
