Batman, throwing a bola.

Not happy with several aspects of this but that's what I get for leaving a school project to almost the last minute.

Batman - Final (http://www.basementlife.ca/edu/iMackBATMAN.mov)

it's 11megs .. I didn't save it with the other codec and my teacher has the DWG's now.

[Edit] *Next time include a pic too! Thx. - Oblio

Im pretty sure you're not supposed to post movies in finished section, only images. The movie should go to the links section, im pretty sure.:)

wow just watched, its pretty sweet, must have taken a lot of patience. i really like the fluidity of the cape and the bola. In the starting part where hes getting up it seems like its missing a few frames, like one fraction of a second hes on the ground and a fraction of a second later hes standing up, unlike the rest of it which moves really fluidly. i wish i could do stuff like that, how did it take to make?

I'm pretty sure the finished section section is for finished pieces. I'd put the movie in the thread if I could.

Chewbacca: It's a pretty long process. First I did a gestural animation which doesn't look like batman @ all, just meant to get the movement down. Then I went back and gave him some more structure. Then (as often happens in animation), I scrapped the whole thing and started again. After that, I cleaned it all up on fresh paper. haha, you should have seen some of the sheets. I had to do so much testing to get that cape right.

About that jump you mentioned. He pushes himself up really quickly but I guess I didn't do enough anticipation for the movement.

Im sorry if I was wrong everybody bout posting movies, I though this was originally a picture, and i dont know the rules about movies. So mabye skrubbles is right, a still caption or image of the movie before the link might get more ppl to watch it and bypass any rules about link posting.:)

Very nice. The cape follow-trough is well done. As it was mentionned before, he gets up way too fast. He's going to fling himself in the air at that speed. Perhaps you could add more frames between 4 and 5 OR change the motion alltogether and have him change his point of balance as he's straightening up. (like tilt forward at the beginning and lean backward in the follow-trough as the chest is almost vertical)
:)

hehe, always glad to hear from you Egerie. I'll look into his standing up motion over the x-mas break.

not to be over-obvious man, but the .mov at the end of the address means its a movie.
