A character a day -- DAY 22!

In my attempt to discepline myself to draw as much as possible and to stay active in the forums, I've decided to commit myself to sketch at least one page of characters in my sketchbook and vectorize one of those characters every day for at *least* a month --- holidays and weekends optional, of course :)

30 CHARACTERS IN 30 DAYS...CAN IT BE DONE??

...and Foz, good thoughts on incorporating funny concepts into the images, I'll try, but my idea for this being a "successful" thread is me *actually* producing the 30 solid characters in 30 days. :)

I'm not sure how posting a new piece of finished artwork daily in a single thread will annoy people in an art forum, but I certainly don't want to annoy anoyone. If this does end up annoying people I'll probably rather just discontinue the thread.

i wasn't saying your work would annoy people, but the bumping to the top of the list might.
doesn't give other artists the chance to have their work seen, if more then one person did this i would flip out... that's really the reason why the daily sketchbook started.

but i'll let this go, since people are enjoying it as is.

The "one eye bigger than the other" schtick is starting to get as old as the use of lens flares and page curls, 'tho. Your characters for the most part appear fresh, and unique. You need to not get trapped in the eyeball thing.

But, y'know, technically this is NOT a finished work, because each of these completed characters is only one part of your "30 day, 30 character" project. You should either put it in the Daily Sketchpad, or post all 30 completed characters at the end of the month.

The guidelines should be the same across the boards, with no favoritism due to "popular dissent"...
This is just a time limited WIP.

These are really clean! Do you use a french curve or a template of some kind when you draw them in your sketchbook or is it all freehand? Anyway, it's great work. I could easily see this stuff on greeting cards or t-shirts or something.

PencilPunx - I create thes images by scanning in rough pencil scetches and tracing them with vector tools. I *wish* I was good enough to do this freehand! :)
