JINSEI (Japanese for "life") - Here is my first ever "human" sculpt. I have been trying to learn human characteristics for sculpting....so this "head study" is a part of that. I love the wrinkles and folds that the elderly have in their faces.(So much character) Jinsei was once a great Samurai warrior, and is now nearing the end of his existence. He is blind in his right eye, and his body no longer obeys him. He spends much of his time reflecting on the life he has led...the loss of his family and fellow warriors. His only hope is that he has lived his life honorably while preparing for the afterlife. (Sorry for the crappy lighting...my good lamp broke) Took me roughly 10 hours from start to finish. (not including breaks)
THANKS FOR LOOKING.

Awesome dude.
Very well done, your sculpture work is amazing. Do you use Castilene to sculpt with?

Thanks guys...actually I used Super Sculpey. Thanks for the kind words.
'Fitz111'- I just checked your site out man, and I love your sketches. There's a insane quality to your characters that makes me laugh everytime. The bulgy eyes, and nervous appearance of the faces are great! :) They are exactly how I like my cartoons. Maybe one day I an sculpt one of your characters. (for fun)

Jan- Thank you Jan...I'm glad you find him so life-like. What a compliment! :)
3bleadpencil- Thanks! Man, I checked out your site as well, and I really dig your mechs and soldiers. Quite imaginative, and fun. They would make great figures and toy ships.:chug:

I always look forward to what you have to post, and this one's no exception... keep it up! my only crit would be that the contrast between the blinded eye and non-blinded isn't enough to let me know that one of them is messed up...if that makes sense.
again, your sculpts are great.
