it's been a really long time since i've posted anything here. most of my time is being devoted to school, I'm at Gnomon in LA, so most of my time is going towards 3d work. i have one class where we are doing 2d stuff and this is for a final project for that class. i

i started with a pencil sketch, scanned it into photoshop and started roughing the shading in to get a sense of light, i think most of that is done and i'm starting to go into some details. i definately plan on adding some atmospheric effects at the end, maybe some fog up near the top to give it some depth and scale. anyway, let me know what you think so far... cheers!

Is that class production design 1? Awesome, seems a little heavily influenced by lord of the ring though. Not that it’s a bad thing but you always get the finger pointing. For a huge fortress there doesn’t seem to be that many windows.

But the rendering it self looks pretty awesome. I’m also going to gnomon (not the 2 year prog) just jumping around taking classes here and there.

oh nice, this is for Visual Communications class, pretty cool class. i'm just getting the shading and lighting down, i'm going to go in and add details later on, there will be some windows. yeah, i guess it is a little lord of the rings influenced, but hey, what isn't these days in the world of fantasy art.
