Looks great! I think the shadow for the mast should be out a bit more, compared to the other shadows and the light, also the wind swept ice sculptures on the horizon look a bit flat. Other than that I think it's beautiful. Great job of the snow and ice!

I really like the piece alot, I'm always a fan of blues / whites , and greys.
I think the part of land where the stick is in, is on a closer part of land than by where the ship is. (this is pretty obvious, when you look at their relative proportions), but I think when I look at it, I get the perspective of looking down from a cave on a cliff down to the ship. So I think you should define the edge of the ledge where the viewer is standing on.
Also i think in the bottom left side of the piece, the ice formations are kind of hard to make out, what i mean is they kind of run into eachother and dont really have a perspective to them...
Other than those things, I love it. Hope i wasn't too nitpicky...
so yeah.

very interesting- reminds me of the scene in the movie "Mary Shelly's Frankenstein" when the ship is stranded on the ice.

I love how you haze out the horizon a bit with the blurred white. It almost makes it look windy. You could add more depth to the picture by adding a bit more stand-outish texture in the foreground. Make it POP!

I love everything about this save for the shadow of the mast. It makes me cold just lookin' at it!

plaf-
Great work, it goes perfectly with the 20 degree weather we're having here. If I may make one observation? I really like how in some parts of the ship you have the wood splintering. I, in my humble opinion, I think you should push that further. I feel right now like the boat has gotten it worse from the time its spent there rather than the pressure of the ice pushing against the hull. That's just my 2 cents though.
Great Work in any event.

thanks all around! good + constructive criticism.
i'll do something about separating foreground, middle and background more (i guess this'll make it easier to see that you're standing on some sort of ledge, looking out), fix the shadow on the mast (i agree, that shadow definitely is dodgy...) and do something about the left side of the middle. it's a little too messy as it is.
thanks again! more is also appreciated :)
all the best
