Taken from an original character design, i fear rigging this, I really don't know what to expect, it will be my first rigged character, but, it's a start! Any crits or comments welcome...

Looks good so far; the legs lack some of the details that are in the drawing, but you're still at an early stage. Keep going, and post more when you have it!

Not totally finished, but I'm pretty happy with it so far...I don't have time to put the trench coat on, well, I have the time to do that, but I don't have the time to animate it, no Maya Unlimited, so it would be vertice by vertice if I wanted to animate the coat. Too bad, I feel it takes away from the design.

Hey, looks good. I am on my way of modeling my first real 3d head ever.
So I can't give you much advice on animation.
However I have a suggestion.
Make the coat of solid steel(or other metal) give the sleeves some joints.
Decorate it with rivets, weldings, imprints or other other metal typical shapes.
Then you still got the coat, but you donīt have to bother with cloth-animation. :)
