Thanks for all your wonderful submissions, everyone! The positions have been filled. I apologize to those submitters who didn't get a reply, but there were too many e-mails to respond to individually. I did look at every portfolio, though!

Here's what the ad originally said:
Hi, I'm the director of The Ottoman, an independent 8-minute animated short inspired by French comics, Japanese mecha and steampunk. My team is looking to fill a number of assignments in the areas of mecha design and environment design. We're in need of both new artwork as well as revisions to existing concepts.
MECHA CONCEPT ARTISTS - What we're looking for:
Attention to detail. Because these concepts will be the basis for 3D models, every piston, rivet and gear needs to be accounted for.
Inventiveness. The style of the project draws from a broad range of influences, and the mecha concepts should too.
Real-world mechanical knowledge. The designs need to look plausible, so an understanding of how engines, joints and hydraulic systems operate is useful.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONCEPT ARTISTS - What we're looking for:
The ability to work within the European-comic/celshaded style of the project.
An eye for bold, cinematic compositions.
The ability to make even imaginary locations look plausible and lived-in.
Interested parties should e-mail me at OttomanProject@gmail.com. To be considered, please include your rates, samples of your work or a link to your portfolio, and your availability.
In accordance with forum rules, please don't post your responses to this thread, since those will just get deleted by the mods. (Requests for clarification/follow-up information are fine.) I'll update the thread once the position is filled.
